Father’s Day – What Is A Papa?

It is father’s day, I receive 5 wonderful hand made cards from my family and I also received this email.

What Is A Papa?

A Papa is someone who
wants to catch you before you fall
but instead picks you up,
brushes you off,
and lets you try again.

A Papa is someone who
wants to keep you from making mistakes
but instead lets you find your own way,
even though his heart breaks in silence
when you get hurt.

A Papa is someone who
holds you when you cry,
scolds you when you break the rules,
shines with pride when you succeed,
and has faith in you even when you fail . . .

They say that, from the instant he lays eyes on her,
a Papa adores his daughter. Whoever she grows up to be,
she is always to him that little girl in pigtails. She makes
him feel like Christmas, everyday. In exchange, he makes
a secret promise not to see the awkwardness of her teenage
years, the mistakes she makes or the secrets she keeps.

They say that, children cannot see the Fatherhood of God
unless they first see God in the lives of their Papas.

My Papa never taught me how to live life;
he just allowed me to see how he lived his.

Any man can be a father, but
it takes a special man to be a Papa.

One day, I saw my Papa kneeling before his bed with an open Bible
interceding, crying, and praying for me by name.
What a defining moment!
I learned that only a real Papa would ever do that.

I saw the Fatherhood of God
in the way my Papa worked and talked.
(walk the talk.) (say what you mean, and mean what you say.)
(God knows and I know ~ and that settles the issue!)

If someday I will find my prince charming,
my Papa (xxxxxxx) will always be my king!
